History and Art Projects

The children in the senior room were asked to research different aspects of the Middle Ages. When they had completed their findings, they were then asked to prepare a power point presentation on their particular topic. Finally, each child or group of children presented their power point presentations to the rest of the class.
In conjunction with their research projects, the children were also asked to engage in a project on the Middle Ages. Most children created their own Medieval shields. The children were asked to research the colours and pictures on medieval shields and to create their own shield, which was unique to them!
In one paragraph, children were required to explain what their colours and symbols (or pictures) represent and how they represented them. Their explanations along with their sources were glued to the back of their shields.
